Why my fingers hurt- arthritis in fingers
The phrase
arthritis describes
a
problem where
the joint is swollen
and
results in plenty
of soreness.
Finger
arthritis can
affect all
the joints of
the finger. Arthritis
of the finger
joints inhibits
normal
motion
of the fingers.
This
inability to flex
the hands
and fingers freely
is
among the most
commonly encountered arthritis symptoms
found
in hands
and fingers. In
this condition,
the range of
movement of
hands
and fingers is
restricted drastically.
However,
with proper treatment, arthritis in fingers may
be treated
effectually.
While
there are different
varieties of arthritis however,
the key type
which affects
the fingers
is
principally osteoarthritis and
in some cases, rheumatoid arthritis too.
If
you remember to anatomy class, a
joint is
a point of interaction
for
two different
bones. In
the joint, the ends
of the bones are covered by
a tough
elastic
material
that
is called cartilage. Osteoarthritis in
hands
and fingers and the knuckles is
the outcome
of gradual
damage
of the cartilage. Years
of natural wear and tear of the cartilage leads
to chaffing
in
between bones. Thanks
to the erroded joint, the bones with reduced
cartilage rub
against
one
another, ultimately
causing soreness
of joints.
Arthritis in fingers can
also happen on
account of an
injury where
the cartilage is greatly
damaged.
Even
rheumatoid arthritis may
perhaps show
signs
of arthritis in fingers in
the acute period,
and gradually
the
inflammation
and
also pain
can
extend
to
the other important
joints of
the entire
body. The
course of treatment is
determined
based
on the type
of arthritis that is diagnosed.
